Probably one of the nicest campgrounds I’ve stayed at! Very friendly and helpful staff, clean bathrooms. Beautiful/ private sites. Great location if you are stopping on your way to the island. Was upset we couldn’t have stayed longer.
Personable and very helpful staff in the office upon arrival around 2 PM on the last day of Hope’s Brigade Days. Even though checkout time was at 11 AM somebody had overstayed and not left the site we chose and paid for. The staff worked hard to find us an alternate spot. Our online booking worked perfectly and the staff knew exactly how many days we had reserved. This is an amazing private campsite because of all the privacy and trees. Very well-kept. Excellent looking playground and bathrooms. Wi-Fi works well in the office area. Cellular reception is OK. Very close to walk to two different grocery stores and other services. Plus, there are walking trails along the river and a bike park right across the street.
Amazing campground within city limits, which means easy access to supplies. The grounds and sites are very well maintained.
We stayed at the site which was right next to the stream and it did not have power; however there are several options to choose from.
There are restrooms showers and laundry available at the camp.
Very nice RV campground with full hookups. It is situated in town. It is a full-fledged forest with proper camp sites with picnic tables and fire pits. It makes you feel like you're away from civilization, even though you're right next to it.
I recommend this campsite.
Called the lovely lady at this campsite a couple hours before they closed because I was concerned about the weather on the highway and visibility at night. They were beyond accommodating, got us a parking spot for our tent trailer and car that was easy to back into, pull out of and set up in the dark. Tons of room at our site, nice picnic table and trees. Bathrooms available which was beyond welcoming at this point! There was no hot water in the bathroom but I believe there is some available in the shower rooms, I just didn't use the showers. Bathroom was clean, staff was kind. Dogs enjoyed at leashed walk around the Campsite in the morning. Saw an amazing playground if you happen to go through there with children. Staff drove through there several times in the evening in their golf cart, I'm guessing for safety and making sure everyone was good. Would definitely come again! Thank you again so much for giving us a safe haven! There was dense fog, torrential downpours and low visibility on the coquahala. I was in tears before I got to the campsite and was much relieved not to have to continue traveling thank you again so very very much!
It was really nice to stop at this camp site. Beautiful nature and very friendly staff.
Had a pretty good experience here, and I'll be back.
My thoughts:
- the river sites are excellent, with one caveat. They're substantially cooler (temperature wise) due to how close they are to the water, and it's a ton of fun just hanging out along the banks or in the water. The one thing that drove me crazy was how dusty and dirty the site was. It could definitely use a layer of gravel because it was about an inch of dry dirt/sand all over the site.
- amenities are okay. I was pleasantly surprised to find the showers/bathrooms are self contained toilet/shower combos, each with its own door lock and code, so you can have some privacy. The bathrooms were old, but mostly clean. Could definitely use some updating. The kids playground is newish but pretty small.
- location is good. Very close to town and also a short drive to Othello Tunnels. Easy to drive or even walk to pick up groceries or even Starbucks or some fast food.
We love going to the Coquihalla Campground. You’re close enough to town that you can zip in if you forgot anything but it feels like you’re completely away from everyone while you’re there. The staff are very friendly and very helpful. The bathrooms are immaculately clean I would definitely recommend this campground to anyone who just wants to go and have a good time while feeling away from it all!
